Donderdagochtend heb ik de bus van 9:30 richting Sevilla genomen. Het eerste plan voor vandaag: naar de kapper! Sinds ik uit Nederland ben vertrokken, was dit mijn tweede knipbeurt. Het was ook echt nodig, mijn haar groeit namelijk veel te snel. Ik zag op internet dat er een kapperszaak zat bij de El Corte Inglés (een soort Bijenkorf warenhuis). Ik las namelijk dat daar personeel werkte dat Engels spreekt. Helaas sprak de man die mijn haar knipte geen Engels, maar het resultaat was uiteindelijk goed.
Daarna heb ik een rondje gelopen door Sevilla. In de ochtend was het een beetje regenachtig, maar richting de middag brak de zon door en werd het al gauw warm. Dit keer liep ik een stukje in het noorden van de stad, langs de kathedraal en het paleis. Ik zag op mijn buienradar app dat het tussen 15:00 en 19:00 zou gaan regenen en onweren. Het leek me geen goed idee om door de stad te lopen in de regen en het onweer tot 18:00, dus heb ik de bus van 14:30 teruggenomen naar de camperplaats, zodat ik de volgende ochtend de eerste bus naar de stad kan nemen.
De camperplaats ligt nog een aantal kilometer buiten Sevilla, dus hoe laat het daar gaat regenen is de vraag. Nadat ik een uur terug in de camper was, begon het langzaam te regenen. Na een aantal minuten begon het te hagelen. Gelukkig niet lang, en waren de hagelstenen niet zo groot. Overigens klinkt het wel ontzettend hard in de camper tijdens een hagelbui.
Second day in Seville
Thursday morning, I took the bus at 9:30 towards Seville. The first plan for today: go to the hairdresser! Since I left the Netherlands, this was my second haircut. It was really necessary because my hair grows way too fast. I saw on the internet that there was a hair salon at El Corte Inglés (a kind of department store like the Bijenkorf). I read that there were staff members who spoke English there. Unfortunately, the man who cut my hair didn’t speak English, but the result was ultimately good.
After that, I took a stroll around the city. In the morning, it was a bit rainy, but towards the afternoon, the sun came out and it quickly became warm. This time, I walked a bit in the northern part of the city, past the cathedral and the palace. I saw on my weather radar app that it would rain and thunder between 15:00 and 19:00. It didn’t seem like a good idea to walk through the city in the rain and thunder until 18:00, so I took the bus back to the camper site at 14:30, so that I could take the first bus to the city the next morning.
The camper site is still a few kilometers outside the city, so the question is when it will start raining there. After an hour back in the camper, it slowly started to rain. After a few minutes, it started to hail. Fortunately, it didn’t last long, and the hailstones weren’t that big. However, it sounded incredibly loud in the camper during a hailstorm.
